A bad Equation and Christmas for Missionaries!

Hey familia,
First off... Feliz Cumpleaños MAMÁ! (did you get my letter?) This year has passed by fast. It´s almost Halloween again, then Thanksgiving, and then I´m home... let´s not think about that. :)

My birthday when great. Saturday, the Hermanas of Lavalle (sister Bladder and sister Shoaf) threw a five minute surprise party (that is the photo with the hat, and the Feliz cumpleaños sign) They also gave me a card with about 60 scriptures, the line and the word that I was supposed to find. lol :) It was my secret message birthday card. It was super nice of them. On my birthday, Family Amutio made me the chocolate cake with strawberries. Tasted like a giant brownie. And family Vergara made me the giant vanilla cake with a sour cream, whipped cream frosting. It was fantastic.
What a week. Oh, how I love Conference!
(the photo is from the gringo room)  It´s like Christmas for missionaries, and, like Christmas, it always goes by so fast. I can´t believe it´s over... I also couldn´t believe that it had already been six  months.... Weird. I loved all the talks, especially 'ask the missionaries' and of course, Elder Holland. If you guys recorded Conference, I would ask that you don´t delete it, mainly because I wasn´t paying much attention this conference, and let me explain why. It all has to do with this little equation that I learned Sunday:
FEVER - WATER = A collapsed sister missionary, with three other sister missionaries helping her, while about ten Elders watch like deer in headlights...
Well, if you haven´t guessed, I´m that sister missionary. Yeah!  First time it´s ever happened, and it was super weird, and kind of exciting, but, REALLY embarrassing. :P Here in Posadas, the weather has been changing every 10 seconds, HOT and then cold. so basically, everyone is sick. It doesn´t help that we visit everyone. So, somewhere along the line I got the bug. Saturday during sessions, I wasn´t feeling my best.  I was feeling a little hot, and just wanted to go home and sleep it off. Apparently, at this point, it was the very start of the most dreaded fever. Saturday night it spiked to 102.4.  That is when I decided to take Tylenol (my last 2) to bring down my fever. Totally worked. :) Love meds. But Sunday morning, I apparently wasn´t thinking too clearly. I woke up, called the area doctor (told me I had to drink lots of water and take some pills), took a hot shower (stupid idea if you have a fever), took a Dayquil, some juice and slept a little. The MOST IMPORTANT thing I forgot to do... Water. I FORGOT TO DRINK WATER! STUPID STUPID STUPID! Well, anyway, I was determined to go to Conference. So we headed out the door. I was feeling a little light headed, but I didn´t think that it would make a difference. That was until we were waiting for the bus. As we were waiting for the bus, I was not feeling well. I had to sit down on a small patch of grass and I laid on my backpack. That´s when I told Hermana Rejas to just call a taxi. After a couple of minutes a taxi came and took us to the Church. When we got there, I felt like I wanted to vomit! It was terrible. I was sweating like crazy and the world was spinning all around me. I started walking to the church, but had to stop. That is when Hermana Rejas saw the seriousness of the situation and ran to get the other Hermanas. (Now is where you can see the Lord's hand helping me out) Right when they got to my side, my entire body collapsed - INCLUDING MY EYE LIDS! I´ve never had that happen. They kept asking me if I could hear them. In my head I was like, ¨of course I can hear you¨, but then I realized I should probably say it out loud. So, after I responded, they took me inside where I refused to walk anymore because the ground was cold and it felt GREAT! I didn´t want to move from that spot. I didn´t care if there was about 15 people watching. But they next moved me to the closest room, where I laid on the floor for about five minutes while I heard my zone leader talking with the area doctor. Who told him I was SUPER dehydrated and needed water. That´s when my companion and the two other Hermanas pumped me full of about 2 or 3 water bottles. After about 15 minutes of just sitting there, talking and drinking water (what I should have been doing in the first place), the Zone Leaders were nice enough to give me a blessing. I´m feeling MUCH better. :)

This all happened during Elder Eyring's talk, and then It took me a couple of other talks to recuperate and start taking notes. As you can tell, the words of the Lord are very important to me that I´m will to risk my health. haha :)
I stayed in yesterday to recuperate, and it looks like I´m going to have to do it again. The doctor told me this should last until Friday. We´ll find out. But all is well. lol I don´t know how long my companion can stay in the apartment and stay sane, but all is well. :)
I love you guys so much. The Lord is looking out for everyone of you. What a blessing it is to be here serving the people, even when I´m sick. :) lol I love you guys so much. I love this Gospel. I¨m grateful for it everyday of my life, and there are so many more people waiting to hear it.
Be smart (drink water), be safe, and trust in the Lord.
Love Love Love
