San Ignacio, Argentina

¡¡DOUBLE DIGITS!!

Hey yo, Yes, like the title says, I am in my double digits. Yesterday
was my tenth month! I know I say this a lot, but I REALLY can´t
believe how fast time has passed. There is still so much to do.  We are already about to have April
conference. What? Kyle is 19! WHAT? And is about to head out into the
world and life of a missionary. ¡¿WHAT?! So yes... time passes by
really REALLY fast.

I did receive the package... or they have my package is a better way
to put it. The elders were ¨nice¨ enough to tell me that they have my
package, they told me this on FRIDAY. And I won´t receive it until
tomorrow (TUESDAY). So... waiting... waiting... waiting... I could
punch them, seriously. :)

I looking forward to tonight. We have a inactive family that we are
having dinner with, and they are going to show me how to make CHIPAS!
I´m so excited. SO EXCITED. The Dad was a baker chief and owned his
own panaderia (pastry shop). So yes... I will be doing some baking
when I get home. :)

Let´s see, not much has happened this past week. we have tried several
times to ask for references, and look for new investigators, but we
haven´t had much luck. We are praying this week will be better, because
I´m getting a little sick of the elders sounding disappointed and
having a ¨you aren´t trying hard enough¨ tone in their voice, so..
vamos a ver.

I love you all so much, and I pray that everything is going well, hope
you enjoy the photos. Faminita!

IT´S NEVER GOING TO END!!!

MI FAMILIA!

Hey yo! Just real quick, referring to the subject line, I¨m almost
positive that this heat really is NEVER going to end. I´m dying, and
it was hotter today than in like, the past 2 weeks. I´m dying, and
praying for rain. Seriously, I´m dripping with sweat (try not to
imagine it, it´s not a pretty picture) and panting. But, what can you
do ha? Endure...

.... to the End!  Which brings me to my next subject. Merlisa and
Julio were baptized Saturday! And confirmed Sunday! I´m super excited
for them, and now all they have to do is Endure to the End, easier
said then done ha? But I think/hope they can do it. We had a little
bit of a scare Saturday. When Julio came to the church he smelled like
Wine. Bishop smelled it, Mariano (the hermano that was going to baptise
him) smelled it over his cologne. I even smelled a little bit of it. So,
Our awesome Bishop was nice enough to have a ¨interview¨ with him and
see what was going on. He spent about 15 minutes with him, and when
they left all he gave us was a thumbs up. Like, it´s OK he can be
baptised thumbs up. Then, yesterday after the confirmations he was
nice enough to tell us that now he has a purpose to stop drinking and
smoking and that he has stopped. Which, interpreted in my missionary
ears is that he DIDN´T stop when we had stopped by everyday last week
to see how he was doing with drinking and smoking and he told us
that he hadn´t been doing either. Man, I´m just saying I was a
little bit ANGRY. But, all is said and done, and now I'm just praying
that he will be able to stay strong. Man, what a week. But, Merlisa is
awesome. She wants a eternal family and to go to the temple with her
future husband.

Today was a Monday - more exciting then usual... we were able to go to
San Ignacio! It´s about an hour from Posadas and President gave us
permission to go! It was awesome, I have photos but I left the cord in
the pension, (I´m pretty sure once you read this you´ll look up San
Ignacio -> mom, Lisa) so your going to have wait till next week to see
me with those ruins. I bought some pretty cool stuff too, I would have
bought more, but I didn´t think to bring money. My fault I guess. If
I return I´m going to buy more stuff. The vendors there are really
cheap.

I´m tired... and that´s my 2 cents on that note. :)

Kyle, HAPPY 19th BIRTHDAY next Sunday! You better write me and tell me
what you got. Enjoy it, it will be your last at home for almost two
years... weird ha? But I´ll be there, so don´t you worry.

We have nine missionaries that didn´t come to Argentina last transfer because they
are waiting for their visa, so, we are going to have nine more
missionaries this next transfer... praying that I don´t have to
train... I don´t think I´m ready. vamos a ver.

Well, I have to go. I hope everything is going well for you guys back
at home. I´m excited that at least you had a little bit of snow this
week. I love you all so much, I pray for you all the time. Please be
safe, be smart, don´t be stupid, listen to the spirit, and trust in
the Lord.

Love love Love

Happy...Days!

Dear Familia de Mio.

First, I would like to wish you a couple of Happy days! First, for
here in Argentina, (March 8) Feliz Dia de la Mujer! This is for Mom,
Lisa, Kim, and every other woman reading this! Happy Day of the Woman!
Second, Happy St. Patricks Day! Here in Argentina it´s in October
(creo), like Mothers Day so ya, I´ll still wear green. Don´t you
panic about that. :)

AND second, FELIZ CUMPLEAÑOS Dad (on Sunday!) Don´t forget to write me
about what you got, about what you guys did. About everything! Even
down to the cake. I´ll be waiting for the email. Especilly now since
you have been RELEASED! WHAT?? How awesome and sad. Awesome because you get some time to rest, sad because you were a great Bishop and will be surely missed. You might have to carry some candy in your pockets for
the next couple weeks for those little kids who have a hard time
letting go. Just saying. :)

We have some BAPTISMS this week. Julio (I hope), and Merlisa! Woot
woot! It´s going to be awesome. I´m pretty excited. :D

But, after these baptism, we don´t have anymore investigators that are
even close. The pass couple of weeks we have had very little success in
finding people who want to listen, at least in our area. A lot
of our area is in the city, and almost everyone who are in the city
when we talk to them, live outside the city. So we have some
references for the Elders, but nothing for us. :( BUT!, we have plans
for this week, that hopefully go well. Vamos a ver.

Almost everything in our apartment broke this week; the pipe for the
sink, the pipe in the laundry room got clogged, our toilet broke and
shot water in the back of it for about an hour until it started to
over flow and I figured out that we needed to flush the toilet. Also
our light switch broke, our door won´t shut unless you lock it, the
cold water in our shower didn´t work, so when we woke up freezing and
decided to turn on the hot water it was REALLY hot. and we didn´t have
cold water, and, I believe that is it. But we called our landlord and
he sent over a plumber. So we have new pipes, a working toilet, and
cold water in the shower! I´m pretty excited.

I´m going to let you go, my time is almost up.  Thank you all for
writing (those of you who wrote) and for your supporting words every
week. I need them. I love this gospel with all of my heart, and I´m
grateful everyday for you guys, for the blessings the Lord has given
to us everyday of our lives. Have trust in him, and follow all of his
teachings and not only will we be happy in this life, but forever,
with our family, eternally happy. FACT

I love you all,

Rain rain... COME AGAIN!

Hey familia!

This past week we had stake conference. It went really well. President
and Sister Heyman gave awesome talks. We had two investigators there
also! Woot!  We would have had three, but Julio took a bad fall a couple
days ago, and can´t walk very well. He´s going to the doctors today.
He has his baptism set for Saturday, but we´ll see how that goes.

Wow, sorry guys. not a very exciting week. I hit my half way mark,
it´s all down hill from here. Or in mission terms, still up hill and
the day you go home is when you hit a dead stop. yep... así es.

These are my nine month pictures - gotta burn something, right?
Haha  - enjoy!

Other then that we had a very rainy week. Rained for about two and
half days. Not straight, but it was nice. I even slept with a blanket.
Oh how I miss sleeping with a blanket.  Now, It´s blistering hot
again..,. oh the joys of life, eh?

Well, sorry, not very eventful, or long, but that´s all I got.
I love you all so much, and hope all is well at home. Have a good
week. Be smart, be safe, and trust in the Lord always.
